Starting Fresh

As we all know, the Los Angeles Lakers failed to reach their goal, to win yet another NBA championship. Disapointing, yes, very. Kevin Garnett was just too beastly to contain. Best offence versus the best defence in the NBA. Honestly, i knew that we couldnt beat the Celtics but there was always that hope of it becoming reality. Well… i think of it this way, the Lakers wernt even suppose to be in the dance this year so they lucked out by making it that far. Due to Andrew Bynums injury, the Lakeshow was not to its fullest potential.

Over the off season, rumors are flying around that Lakers are interested in obtaining free agent, Ron Artest from the hated Sacramento Kings. That would be a major upgrade in the squad, adding one of the best defenders in the league into your locker room camaraderie. So come next year, I’ll be waiting for Lakers to tear it up as they rebuild and soon bring the people of Los Angeles another memorable parade.

I’m Back!

From a long absence due to my busy teenage schedule and lazyness, I’ve returned with an a ray of new topics to share with. From the disapointing Laker post season and to Obama’s predictable victory to advance his political endeavors, I have so much more to talk about! So once again, sit back, relax and munch on your cracker jacks because urbanState is back in business.

For all of you who dont know the man down there, let me introduce, his name is Joey Diamond and he makes youtube videos of him singing various covers of different artisits. Well, I just wanted to share this with all of you. I commented Joey Diamond’s picture with a rude and unnecessary remark. I was bored with a friend and we thought it was really funny at the time due to watching a youtube video of him kissing a guy. no homo. Here it is and please tell me this made you laugh because I honestly feel like a jerk. Oh and don’t get the wrong idea, I’m not advertising bigotry or hating on gay people. It was just an ignorant move on my part for some comedy relief.

Lupe Fiasco, Acoustic?

MTV’s Rob & Big

Airs every Tuesday at 10:30 pm ET on MTV.

With an awkward look, having a hippo looking black man interact with a pro skater, this show has to be one of MTV’s best creation ever. One of my favorite shows on television, Rob and Big brings you laughter and reality. After all, thats what it is, a comedy reality tv show. On their 3rd season, Rob and Big have never been more entertaining. If your out there buying the Hills, One Tree Hill or Clipper’s dvd sets, go back to the store and ask for a damn refund and buy yourself a worth while tv show.

A New Beginning

Since the 2006 season, the Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t find any luck come playoff time. But this year, with new additions like Pau Gasol, Coby Karl and their vastly improving center, Andrew Bynum, they might have a chance to bring back the good old times in LA. The difference this year is that Kobe Bryant finds himself winning without putting up 30 each night. Of course with the help of his supporting cast Lamar Odom, who I think is having his best year as a player and Derek Fisher who is having some off the court problems with his daughter.

As of now, they are the third seed in the west with a 52-24 record so far this season. With only 4 games left to play before the playoffs, the Lakers have themselves an easy schedule left with teams left like the Clippers and the hated Sacramento Kings. I see them winning the rest of the 4 games and finishing second seed in the West with a record of 56-24. Then come playoff time, they will most likely play Dallas or Denver, both are beatable specially with the comeback of Andrew Bynum.

I honestly think that if the Lakers didn’t lose players like Luke Walton, Trevor Ariza and Andrew Bynum to lagging injuries, the Lakers would be on top with over 60 wins of the regular season, but hey, its the NBA and injuries are preventable. Lets just hope that if not this year, for sure next.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on the Lakers and their status for the upcoming post season. Support the Lakers in their journey to give the people of Los Angeles yet another… memorable parade.

I was introduced to their work by a good friend of mine back in my freshman year of high school. Now that im a sophomore, I’m hooked. It’s like getting high off weed but with life changing results(in a good way). Not that i do that kinda of stuff but meaning that i was inspired by their art. From the “Diary of a Pilipino” to their “Cry me a River” spoof, their shit never gets old! You can watch it 20 times a day and you’ll laugh your ass off every single time.

Recently, the Catholic Church had another yearly occasion in which Jesus died for us in a weeks obstacle called “Holy Week.” And with this occurrence, religious believers would have to give up something they enjoy for 40 days. This is called “Lent.” Which leads us to the following video. It not only signifies the faith of Touchblue to the Catholic Church but it also represents what Touchblue is all about, rude humor but with positive messages. All for the laughter of their fans but with a moral explanation for viewers who process the meaning of the idea in a wrong way. With no further a do, Touchblue presents you “Lent.”
